about

Expanse

My music is based on the classical 5 elements: Air, Earth, Fire, Water, and Aether. In the classical Buddhist elements, Aether is replaced with Void, or non-being. From my own experience, I see this Void/Aether as Expanse (defined as: an uninterrupted space or area; a wide extent of anything).

The music contained in this album comes out of my experiences over the past 2 years. While being unable to go outside, as it were, I decided to go deep inside, into the Expanse. The sounds are based on my inner experiences of visions, visitations, OBEs, and other extraordinary experiences. If you let it, the sounds contained herein may induce deep states and extreme relaxation.

This album is best listened to in the dark (or with a blindfold) on a high quality sound system, or on high quality headphones. The sounds cover a wide dynamic range from very quiet to fairly loud. Please adjust your listening volume accordingly. ~ MB

Recorded at The Vibration Factory, November 2021, by Michael Bettine. All sounds are acoustic in nature. No synthesizers or electronics were used.
